Physicochemical properties of bovine serum high density lipoprotein.

چکیده
Bovine high density lipoprotein, floating between densities of 1.063 g per ml and 1.125 g per ml, constitutes about 80% of all bovine serum lipoproteins. Preparations of this lipoprotein appear homogeneous by several criteria: electrophoresis, sedimentation velocity, sedimentation equilibrium, and NH2terminal amino acid analysis. Bovine high density Iipoprotein is a spherical protein-lipid aggregate, containing 32% protein and 68% lipid by weight; its molecular weight is 376,000. The protein component appears to consist of 4 subunits of molecular weight 28,100. Tryptophan fluorescence spectra of the native lipoprotein and of its delipidated form have maximum fluorescence wave lengths at 328 and 338 run, respectively, an indication that on delipidation the environment of tryptophan residues becomes more polar.

Production of Omega-3-Enriched Meat through Feeding Broilers with Ultrasonicated Flaxseed Oil Nanoemulsions: Performance, Serum Composition, Physicochemical Properties and Oxidative Stability
This study aimed to produce omega-3-emriched broiler meat by using ultrasonicated flaxseed oil nanoemulsions coated with whey protein-sodium alginate. Three hundred 1-d-old (Ross, 308) male broiler chicks were allocated randomly to 5 experimental treatments with 4 replicate pens. Experimental treatments included basal diet (BD), basal diet plus flaxseed oil (BD+FO, 1 mL/kg/BW), basal diet plus ...
متن کاملCharacterization of lipoprotein secreted by cultured eel hepatocytes and its comparison with serum lipoproteins.
The lipoprotein secreted by cultured eel hepatocytes was fractionated by density gradient ultracentrifugation and compared with eel serum lipoproteins. Eel hepatocytes were cultured for 7 to 10 days as a monolayer in Williams' medium E containing 5% fetal bovine serum and 0.16 microM insulin on a dish precoated with fibronectin of horse serum. The only lipoprotein secreted by eel hepatocytes wa...
متن کاملImmunologic Studies of Human High Density Lipoproteins
High density serum lipoprotein underwent serologic and physicochemical alterations on aging during storage at 0 degrees C. for 1 month, as judged by decrease of diffusion coefficient and increase of C' fixation. Ultracentrifugation, dialysis, and high concentrations of sodium chloride did not cause these changes. A protein sedimenting at density 1.24 in the ultracentrifuge reacted with antiseru...
متن کاملSerum Lipid Profile Alterations in Acute Leukemia Before and After Chemotherapy
Background: Serum lipids abnormalities have been observed in various forms of cancers including acute leukemia. Investigators report decreased total cholesterol and HDL, and elevated triglyceride in leukemic patients. Limited studies had been performed to discover the correlation between abnormal lipids profile and disease activity in leukemic patients in Iran. This study was done to evaluate t...
متن کاملComparison of High and Moderate Intensity Aerobic Exercise on Serum Adipulin Levels and Some Indicators of Metabolic Syndrome in Obese Women
Background: Adipulin is a hormone secretd by fat cells that acts as a metabolic regulator with anti-inflammatory properties and is reduced through obesity, diabetes and inflammation. Therefore, the aim of this study was to compare the effect of high and moderate intensity aerobic exercise on serum adipolin levels and some indicators of metabolic syndrome in obese women. Methods: In this quasi-...
